teaching assistant...classroom aide...whatever term you use, we all know it takes a team
in today's complex culture to effectively educate
our children.

As a result of the re-authorized Elementary Secondary Education Act (ESEA), also known as No Child Left Behind (NCLB), those paraprofessionals (paras) who are determined to be "Title I," are required by the federal law to meet or attain certain qualifications.

The Indiana Federation of Teachers and the American Federation of Teachers are working to help paras do just that.
